This review is from: Melissa & Doug Geometric Stacker (Toy)

I 1st saw this toy on-line, and thought it had been a requirement have for our daughter since she's very going in puzzles and stacking and things of that kind.

The idea is wonderful - 3 stackers in one, with varying levels of problem. the primary 2 are quite easy, and also the third needs somewhat a lot of ability and mental energy to piece back along properly.
So, we have a tendency to bought this for our daughter's 1st birthday, and it had been a hit! Even her noise-making over-stimulating toys were forgotten when she opened this one.

Why solely 3 stars? Well, a handful of things:

First the paint stuck along between the items - most importantly on the harder stack of the 3, and it had been quite arduous to seperate the items. after we finally did seperate them, a lot of of the paint was removed and transfered to the opposite items, and a lot of of the paint chipped off soon once with little or no play. Even non-toxic paint i would like she did not swallow in these quantities. i might have thought this was exclusive to our toy, however many different reviewers said identical factor.

Second - odd because it could sound - the 3 prongs sticking up worried me somewhat in terms of her falling on them. Since the bottom is broad, it does not overturn as simply because the single stacker. Since she is learning to run, she will tumble over an honest bit. perhaps a needless concern, however value mentioning.

Ultimately we have a tendency to came back this to the toy store and replaced i

My two 1/2 year recent does not get enough of this toy. He likes to amendment to outfits and can keep entertained for anywhere from fifteen to half-hour enjoying (a long-standing for this age group). Joey could be a welcome addition so very little boys will play with dress up dolls while not having to use woman figures, and he additionally enjoys the various costumes and pretends with us every character. For the value it's nice. the sole issue is that if he drools on it, the paper becomes thereforeggy so watch out if your kid could be a drooler.

Melissa & Doug Joey Magnetic Dress-Up review is from: Melissa & Doug Joey Magnetic Dress-Up (Toy)

Pros: Melissa and Doug toys are nice. My three year recent son likes this toy. it's completely different professions (e.g., fireplace fighter, police officer) and fantasy roles (e.g., super hero, knight). It is also a kind of puzzle as a result of they match the outfits and create the items match along. Adults may relish it. It jogs my memory of my recent paper dolls, however higher as a result of it's magnetic.

Cons: The box is awkwardly designed and every one of the items do not slot in simply. My son has already misplaced a number of the items. it might be higher if the box was enclosed (e.g., had a lid) and every one the items match simply within.

My daughter is nine months recent and LOVES this toy. We've had it for a couple of month and it's one amongst her favorites. She likes to grab the sandwich and pull all the layers apart to listen to the velcro ""rrrrrrip"". The bottle of ""grape juice"" makes a pleasant rattling noise. The ice cream cone makes to a small degree jingle-jingle. The watermelon goes ""squeek"" however it takes adult size hands (all the others are totally baby activated).

Melissa & Doug Deluxe Picnic Basket review is from: Melissa & Doug Deluxe Picnic Basket Fill & Spill Soft Baby Toy (Toy)

After reading reviews i used to be involved that my daughter was too recent for these at sixteen months. I went ahead and purchased the set within the hopes that these toys would facilitate spark conversations regarding food and aid in faux play. They conjointly appeared terribly safe for a toddler her age, as several food sets appear to be approved for three years and higher than. I even have not been in any respect disappointed with the foods, that are fortunately mechanically cleanable. they're played with each single day, and are undoubtedly used for faux play. In my opinion this set would be excellent while not the basket due to the considerations surrounding plastics. however that is simply me!

Update: At nearly three years recent, my toddler still plays with these, particularly the bottled drink and ice cream. we have a tendency to even have a seven month recent, therefore it's nice that these are going to be safe for each very little ones for a few time to come back.

This review is from: Melissa & Doug Deluxe Ice Cream Parlor Set (Toy)

My daughter (3 years old) got this for her birthday. it had been a giant hit! All the youngsters loved fidgeting with it. Even a number of the oldsters were attempting it out.

The cones are made from wood--so they are significant and if you drop it on your toes, watch out! however the ice cream itself could be a light-weight, terribly sturdy plastic.

I would highly advocate this product to any children. i am thinking of buying a second set only for when friends return over, that approach they'll every have a cone!

One factor i might prefer to advocate to the Melissa and Doug company, is for them to return out with a ""Ice cream parlour 2"" set. perhaps some a lot of ice cream scoop flavors (orange sherbet, berry swirl, etc) or simply further cones. Even simply a collection of additional ice cream would be nice. Overall, it is a nice set. superb quality, as is all the Melissa & Doug toys we've bought. Your children can love it!

Customer Reviews : Melissa & Doug Deluxe Latches Board
This review is from: Melissa & Doug Deluxe Latches Board (Toy)

My 2 year recent loves this! My kiddo is dexterous such as you would not believe, and contains a passion for gap and shutting doors additionally as removing covers and lids (electrical socket safety plugs, the backs of remotes, amendment purses, bottle tops, baby wipes) and gap clasps (wallet, watches, bracelets). If your kid is that the sort who's continually probing for new and exciting ways in which to boost your blood pressure with feats of exquisite motor management, this latchboard may be a good way to redirect that energy and curiousity.

I bear in mind reading some horrified parent exclaim that maybe teaching young youngsters to open latches and locks may be a dangerous plan, however realistically speaking - the latches featured here most likely are not employed in a security capability anyway. (Unless you hide your dynamite behind a miniature chain locked door. And you may wish to rethink that.)

The factor is additionally nearly indestructable. I will say this with confidence as a result of it absolutely was ""tested"" by the brats adjoining, and people boys may destroy a padded cell. the colours and footage are bright and appealing, too; it's remarkably well created.

My solely beef is that the value of Melissa and Doug merchandise, however since it's handcrafted I will perceive why it's a necessity. sustain the fine work, guys.

This review is from: Melissa & Doug Beginner Pattern Blocks (Toy)

This is a brightly-colored, durable pattern block set. i'd offer this set to a toddler between twenty months and three years. My 22-month recent simply loves it. As soon as he saw it (hidden away, meant as a Christmas gift) he kept at me to open it. I finally gave in, and that i am therefore glad that I did. he's at the right developmental level for this toy! He tries to match up the shapes and colours, and is even setting out to name the shapes on his own. this is often such an exciting age!

I like how the solid wood boards are double-sided and extremely durable. There are quite enough items to travel around- even though many are lost over the years. many of the images arrived with some scratching, however i believe this is often additional annoying on behalf of me than it's for my kid.

Don't forget that these patterning blocks also can be used independantly of the boards. this allows your kid to return up with more difficult creations as she or he developes bigger ability during this space.

Melissa & Doug Beginner review is from: Melissa & Doug Beginner Pattern Blocks (Toy)

Nice bright, easy patterns for my 2½ yr recent to follow, and therefore the cutout of form makes it simple to put the thick wood items. We're teaching her shapes and color recognition and this is often a good teaching tool, and she or he very feels proud when she finishes every one (there's a pattern on all sides of the wood board.) In general I applaud the Melissa & Doug company for its dedication to easy, classic, sturdy wood toys that are genuinely academic in that they invite imaginative play instead of recite facts to a passive kid at the push of a button. The birthday cake toy is not any exception. Since my daughter received this toy for her third birthday, we've got baked and embellished dozens of cakes in her play kitchen, and thrown birthday parties for every friend, also as all the dolls and every one the stuffed animals. However, i am unable to facilitate feeling that this toy might are alittle higher. essentially it consists of a red wood serving platter, and a cake comprised of six sections that velcro along to create a circle. each bit is kind of giant -- virtually as massive as a true slice of cake. The set includes a cake server which will be used to chop the slices apart, that provides that satisfying velcro-ripping sound. The cake is painted white with blue icing swirls, and has velcro spots in concentric circles on high for the decorations. The decorations are painted on wood discs that velcro to the highest of the cake. The set comes with seven candles which will be velcroed to the highest also. There are solely 3 completely different decorations -- strawberries, jellybeans, and gumdrops. i might have included icing flowers, so the cake may well be embellished sort of a ""real"" cake that a toddler may need for his or her b

One note value mentioning is that the ""patty"" started peeling paint. i do know my daughter is not chewing on it, therefore i actually do not know what caused this.

We have plenty of Melissa and Doug things and we're continually typically terribly impressed with them. The cupcake set is nice fun and our six year recent wished it such a lot that she bought it together with her own cash. to begin off with, it is a prime quality toy. they are primarily picket cupcakes with candles that velcro on prime. the total concept of the icing markers is fun and every one the youngsters (friends included) get pleasure from ""decorating"" the cupcakes. The half you draw on could be a kind of plastic lid that matches over the picket cupcake and is meant to seem like icing. It even comes with to a small degree baking tin (wooden) and an oven mitt. There are paper cupcake liners in fun patterns included that are not planning to last forever, but hey...they are paper. We've typically got liners within the pantry therefore that is not a large deal.

The big flaw during this toy is that the picket cupcakes don't seem to be finished in a very form of paint that may permit you to wipe the dry erase marker off of them. solely the plastic ""icing"" may be erased. Admittedly if you investigate the terribly fine print on the rear of the box it reads ""Markers are supposed for wipe-off icing surfaces solely. don't use markers on alternative parts."" Realistically but, giving children some dry erase markers and letting them attend city on faux cupcakes, goes to lead to the whole cupcake obtaining ""decorated."" within the theme of things it does not very matter as a result of my daught

We recently gave this to a friend's very little boy for his 2nd birthday - he and every one the opposite boys at the party played with it constantly! It says ages 3+ on the package, however the sole tiny elements are the wheels, that appear well-attached. My three year recent son liked the toy too, however the two year recent boys spent much more time wiggling with it. the highest rack slides down that the automotives will all drive off the car carrier. i used to be impressed at how well-made the toy is and that i came on these days to shop for another one to place away as a Christmas gift for my one.5 year old.

My grandsons love this toy - one is three years and therefore the different is a pair of. i am ordering another so that they do not have to share. They love moving the carrier rack up and down and driving the cars off. They 'drive' the truck off round the furniture legs and are available back for the cars to load them duplicate. Melissa & Doug Car toy encourages language development as we tend to name where the truck goes and where the cars are parked, what color automotive ought to go where, etc. nice for imaginative play.

I love Melissa and Doug product, however lately they need not included their usual plastic sliding lid over their product. Melissa & Doug Friendship makes storing this stamp set rather more tough. we've got the dinosaur stamp set that has the quilt and zip falls out of it. I would like they might come back to as well as the cover!

Now, if you are going to make a cool toy like this, why would not you give a lid on the box therefore individuals will store it properly?

My 2-year-old daughter loves this set-- such a lot that I bought another one, too. The dolls are colourful and fun for her, and he or she pulls this out to play with it virtually on a daily basis.

The lack of a lid may be a real drawback, as a result of the items are everywhere my house since there's no great way to store it, and also the tiny items are a secondary drawback. My daughter does not stick them in her mouth, therefore i am not terribly involved regarding choking, however it's simply terribly straightforward to lose the small items.

I see no reason why this could not are designed with 2 shoes on one longer block, as an example, or with shoes protruding from below the skirt, therefore there would not be such a large amount of very little items. particularly as a result of then the corporate may take away the warning that it is not for teenagers below three, when it's clear from the reviewers here that 2-year-olds are using these dolls lots.

I recently bought this toy for grandchildren, ages three and younger, for after they are at my house.

Previous reviews complained that the shapes of numbers five and vi may be confusing, and thus I avoided this purchase for a short while. BUT, the one I bought is NEW and also the five is that the pentagon form and also the vi is that the hexagon form, in order that is not any longer a priority. check up on the image of the merchandise on top of - nowadays the image i'm gazing on this page shows the right shapes for five and vi, thus it seems that Melissa and Doug have corrected this problem! If you were to buy an older or used version of this clock remember that it's going to have the incorrect shapes - however the most recent ones i might presume are correct. Mine is.

I rate this toy 5-star. it's in no way a bells and whistles toy, no noises, no lights. Thank goodness. however i believe there's lots of worth during this toy.

This is a concrete hands-on method for kids to start learning concerning not solely clocks, however additionally shapes, order of numbers, and more, counting on the age and stage of the kid. it's a toy that may grow with a toddler, one to be taken out and used for a short while, then as interest wanes, place it away for a short while, and then bring it out later for a toddler to explore at a distinct stage.

Please keep in mind that kids can most likely get additional worth out of any toy, where a parent, grandparent, teacher, sibling, babysitter, etc. 1st sits down and ta
